Description: Attorney Michelle O’Brien is lead co-counsel for the plaintiffs in Demchak Partners Limited Partnership et al. vs Chesapeake Appalachia, L.L.C., filed in the Middle District of Pennsylvania.  This is a class action case alleging that the second largest natural gas producer in the nation improperly charged thousands of Pennsylvania leaseholders post-production fees.

TYRONE J. THOMPSON V. ANADARKO E & P ONSHORE, LLC ET AL.

Description: Attorney Michelle O’Brien is lead co-counsel for plaintiffs in Tyrone J. Thompson v. Anadarko E & P Onshore, LLC, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, Anadarko E & P Company, LP, Mitsui E & P USA, LLC, and Statoil USA Onshore Properties, Inc., filed in the Middle District of Pennsylvania.  This is a class action case claiming monetary relief and other changes in royalty reporting based on the underpayment of royalties and the confusing and inaccurate reporting of natural gas royalty payments.

BOGDANSKI V. HIKO ENERGY, LLC

Outcome: Settled with Plaintiff’s recovering millions for current and former HIKO Energy customers.

Description: Attorney Michelle O’Brien was co-counsel for plaintiffs in Bogdanski v. HIKO Energy, LLC, initially filed in the Middle District of Pennsylvania and moved to the Southern District of New York.  This was a class action case alleging that HIKO Energy, LLC fraudulently and deceptively manipulated the residential energy bills of its customers.

IN RE ADOBE SYSTEMS INC. PRIVACY LITIGATION

Date: 2015

Outcome:   Settled with Adobe agreeing to improve its existing security measures

Description:   Attorney Michelle O’Brien was co-counsel for plaintiffs in Jacob McHenry v. Adobe Systems Incorporated, filed in the Northern District of California, San Jose Division.  This was a class action case related to a 2013 data breach that involved millions of consumers’ personal information and payment card data.
